Kate Holderness (born 17 February, 1984 in Preston) is an English actress and singer. She has appeared in many commercials and British soaps and has a strong mezzo-soprano singing voice.

Biography

Kate was born and raised in Fulwood, Preston and has two brothers and one sister. She attended Archbishop Temple School until she was 16 where she achieved 10 GCSE's and then went on to study at Cardinal Newman College (achieving 5 A-Levels). Kate began her acting career training with C'est Tous in Leyland under the direction of Christine Appleby, and then with David Johnson at the Laine-Johnson School of Acting in Manchester. She was later signed by acting and modelling agency, PHA.

Kate is currently filming for "Sunshine", a new comedy written by Craig Cash and Phil Mealey in which she makes a cameo appearance as a nurse.

TV Appearances

She has appeared in many British soaps such as "Emmerdale", "Heartbeat", "Cutting It" and "Hollyoaks". In addition to this Kate has worked on ITV's "Tonight with Trevor McDonald" where she played a rape victim in a reconstruction piece. Advertising campaigns and commercials include, Gamestation and Iceland (alongside Kerry McFadden).

Trivia

In addition to working as an actress, Kate is also an accomplished Dj and works regularly at the legendary Leeds night, SpeedQueen. She also Dj'ed in the VIP tent at this years Gatecrasher Summer Sound System event at Lotherton Hall.
