Osvaldo Ríos Born Osvaldo Ríos Alonso
October 25, 1960
Carolina, Puerto RicoOccupation Actor, Singer Osvaldo Ríos born Osvaldo Ríos Alonso on October 25, 1960 in Carolina, Puerto Rico, is a Puerto Rican actor,[1] model, singer, and guitarist, of Armenian descent, who is best known for his roles in telenovelas. He has appeared in several soap operas, including Abrazame muy Fuerte, Kassandra and the 1996 version of La Viuda de Blanco.
In 2007, Ríos played Don Alejandro de la Vega in the Colombian telenovela: Zorro: La Espada y la Rosa. He plays the role of Santiago in the telenovela El Juramento on Telemundo. Osvaldo is also a famous Latin American singer.
He has been married to three women, actress Sully Diaz, journalist Carmen Dominicci and to Geraldine Fernández. He has three sons: Giuliano, Osvaldo, and Alessandro.
He was selected to be the International Godfather of the 2010 National Puerto Rican Parade (by its fans and committee), a major event held annually in New York City. However, because of his history of domestic violence,[2] this sparked a major controversy with Puerto Rican community leaders. Many were calling for a boycott of the parade unless he was disinvited from the event. [3] In an open letter to the media [4] Rios asked for the community's support in this matter. He eventually resigned to his invitation in hopes that the event would go on peacefully how, in his words, it was originally intended to be.
