Team Software Process

Team Software Process

The Personal Software Process (PSP) briefly introduces the concept of Team Software Process (TSP) for projects of size beyond several KLOC where team projects become more appropriate. The book of Watts Humphrey, “Introduction to the Team Software Process”, Addison Wesley Professional, Massachusetts, 1999, presents the TSP in details and treats in particular of building production software teams, establishing team goals, distributing team roles, to cite a few.

The coach role, introduced by Watts Humphrey in “TSP: Coaching Development Teams”, Addison Wesley Professional, Massachusetts, 2006, is amongst the latest developments of TSP. Coaches focus on supporting the team and the individuals on the team while being independent. The coach role is different from the team leader role—in fact, team leaders build products while coaches build teams.
