Ralph Slazenger (born 1845 - died
24 October ,1910 ) was the founder of theSlazenger sports goods company. He started with his brothersAlbert Slazenger andIsaac Slazenger in a significant general outfitting network based inManchester before moving toLondon to start arubber sports goods business noted for itstennis ball s andgolf ball s. There was a scandal over the circumstances of Slazenger being appointed as the official ball supplier for Wimbledon in 1905 but it was short lived. Slazenger was floated on theLondon Stock Exchange in 1910 by which stage it was one of the most significant sports businesses in theUnited Kingdom .
