- Ed Sadowski (basketball)
Edward Frank Sadowski (July 11, 1917–September 18, 1990) was an American professional
basketball player.A 6'5" center, Sadowski starred at
Seton Hall University during the late 1930s and early 1940s. He led Seton Hall to its only undefeated season in 1939-1940. Sadowski later played professionally in the National Basketball League, theBasketball Association of America , and theNational Basketball Association (which was formed after a merger between the first two leagues in this list).As a member of the
Boston Celtics in 1947-48, Sadowski ranked third in the BAA inpoints per game (19.4) and was named to the All-BAA first team, made him the first ever Boston Celtics player to named All-BAA/NBA Team. After retiring from basketball in 1950, he worked for theCities Service Oil Company . He died ofcancer at his home inWall, New Jersey in 1990.External links
