January 31 ,1978 ) is an Italian luger who has competed since 1997. He won three medals in the mixed team event at theFIL World Luge Championships with a silver (2007) and two bronzes (2004, 2005).At the
FIL European Luge Championships , Gruber won five medals with one gold (Men's doubles: 2008, three silvers (Men's doubles: 2004; Mixed team: 2004, 2006), and one bronze (Men's doubles: 2006).Gruber has competed in two
Winter Olympics , earning his best finish of fifth in the men's doubles event atTurin in 2006.He won the overall men's doubles Luge World Cup title in 2004-5.
