Panic (band)

* Dave Mustaine's first band before he joined Metallica. The band was created in 1981 with the lineup of Pat Voeks (Vocals), Dave (Lead guitar), Tom Queck (Rhythm guitar), Bob Evans (Bass guitar) and Mike Leftwych (Drums). No recordings exist from Panic outside bootlegs, although some riffs such as the ones used in the songs "Childsaint", "Jump in the Fire" and "The Mechanix" later formed existing Metallica and Megadeth songs. Also, the drum intro for Rust In Peace...Polaris was written by Mustaine during this time, according to the liner notes on the remastered version of Rust In Peace. The last known event of Panic was the death of two of Mustaine's friends, drummer Mike Leftwych and a sound assistant referred to as "Joe", in a car accident shortly after Panic's first show. Mustaine later went onto join Metallica in 1982. [Megadeth Scorpion Archive - Article 59: "Dave's band Panic?"]
