Bandar Lengeh is a port city in the Hormozgan province of Iran on the coast of the Persian Gulf.

Bandar Lengeh was for many generations a hereditary patrimony of the Qassimi Arabs, and it was only in 1898 that they were expelled from the place by a Persian force. Fact|date=February 2007

History

Bandar Lengeh was established in the 17th century AD by Arab migrants from Khobar, Saudi Arabia. They were joined by local Persians from neighbouring towns.

Lengeh was under Omani rule for 67 years, from 1759 AD to 1814 AD. After which it remained without a government for two years. Local residents then elected Sheikh Qudhaib bin Rashed bin Matar Al Qassimi as governor.
