Ronald

Ronald is a male given name, originally a Scottish form of a Scandinavian name that was cognate with Reginald. [Hanks, Hardcastle, & Hodges (2006). "A Dictionary of First Names, 2nd edition." Oxford University Press.] 'Ronnie' and 'Ron' are common diminutive forms. It is believed that Ronald Originally came from from the slang term aron, that most likely came from the Greek word λίπος (fat).
