Kawartha Speedway is a 3/8 mile paved oval located in Fraserville,
Ontario , approximately 10 km southwest of Peterborough. The paved track is within theharness racing track, temporary grandstands are brought onto theharness racing tracks surface. In 2006 Kawartha Speedway held the finalCASCAR Super Series race before it became theNASCAR Canadian Tire Series in 2007. Since 2004 Kawartha was the host of theCASCAR Super Series finale. Southern Ontario , Kawartha Speedway announced a 6 race late model series split between Kawartha andCapital City Speedway inStittsville, Ontario . Three events will be held at Kawartha and three at the Capital City Speedway. All events will be 100 laps with the exception of the July 13, 2008 race at Kawartha which will be 200 laps for the ACT summer sizzler. The first race of the series is Firday June 20, 2008 at Kawartha downs, followed by June 28, 2008 at Capital City. The series is paying out large cash to the top 10 finishers, with a total purse of $8500. Car counts should be raised and fantastic late model racing is a guarantee.External links
