It was established in 2006 with the aim to provide holistic education to children. It aims to provide respect and dignity to children allowing them to achieve their full potential within a multi-faceted learning environment.Ullens School delivers its educational curriculum and philosophy based on Bank Street’s Developmental Interactive Approach and Developing Capable Persons in collaboration with Bank Street. It is one of the few schools in Nepal with a total child-centric approach, unlimited internet access, high level of infrastructure, highly trained school staff with education and training from Bank Street School of Education, New York along with volunteers from around the world. The patron of Ullens School is the famous philanthropist Baron Guy Ullens and his wife Myriam Ullens.

Ullens School seeks to create learning opportunities, using not only books and materials, but the world of children- schools, neighborhood and communities as the venue of discovery and learning.
School Curriculum
Ullens School delivers a broad and balanced curriculum designed to meet the needs ofeach individual student through the application of Nepal’s National Curriculum. TheCurriculum is taught through the Developmental Interactive Approach. English is themedium of instruction.The primary curriculum includes the core areas of learning and experience, which areessential to the child's holistic development. This is clearly defined within the NationalCurriculum. These are: English and Nepali Language and Literacy, Mathematics,Science, Social Studies, Health and Physical Education, Creative and Expressive Arts,Information and Communications Technology and Vocational Education.Students have opportunities to go out of school to extend their knowledge andexperience through educational field trips. This provides a direct first hand experiencein learning more meaningful as well as providing a stimulus for work in the classroom.In teaching English a high priority is placed on all aspects of literacy; speaking, listening,reading and writing. Spelling and handwriting are important. The aim is to ensure thatstudents who leave Ullens School can read fluently and express themselves well inwriting and conversation.Excellent Art, Music and Drama Rooms are well equipped for developing student’screativity, and confidence. Ullens School places an emphasis on increasing student’sperformance skills enriching their social lives.Ullens School’s Curriculum is available to parent/surrogate parents upon request.Each term during Curriculum Night parent/surrogate parents are informed of their child’sgrade curriculum and corresponding activities. Questions as well as recommendationsfrom parent/surrogate parents are welcomed during this meeting. Curriculumrecommendations can be done at any time during the school year by filling out a“Curriculum Recommendation” form.At the end of each school year a Curriculum Committee reviews each grade levelcurriculum in relation to “Best Teaching Practices” used throughout the year and studentacademic performance. Changes to the curriculum are made accordingly.
