In March 2007, The Filter unveiled the latest version of their playlist creation software for

In July 2008 a new version of The Filter website was launched together with a new media player add-on. The add-on monitors and records music played from the local library and uploads the data to the website which recommends new music the user may be interested in.
The website has been extensively updated. Users can now stream music to their computer in a similar way to
Pandora (music service) recommending new music based on the users choices. In addition to recommending new music, The Filter can also recommend movies and web videos.External links
