Sustainable planting

Sustainable planting is an approach to planting design which complies with the principles of sustainability. This is likely to involve:
* use of native species instead of exotic species
* non-use of artificial fertilizers and herbicides
* non-use of irrigation
* a xeriscaping approach to the use of water
* planting on roofs and walls
