Gary Madine (born August 24, 1990 in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear) is an English footballer who plays as a striker for Carlisle United Football Club.

Footballing career

On July 3, 2007, Madine was given a squad number of number 30 at Carlisle United (this was changed to 28 later in the season) and is expected to challenge for a first team place during the 2007–08 season. He as well as Joe Garner are regarded as a partnership that because of their youth and amazing potential could fire Carlisle United into the Coca-Cola Championship for the first time since the 1980s. When he was linked with Newcastle the Carlisle manager at the time, Neil McDonald was fearful that he would want to leave and try to appear in the Premiership but the £150,000 offer everyone was talking about never arrived and he is still on the books of Carlisle despite sustained interest from several high up Coca-Cola Championship clubs.

Gary Madine scored his first ever league goal against Yeovil Town on the 30th of August 2008, in a resounding 4-1 Carlisle win in which fellow striker Danny Graham bagged a hat-trick.
