The subphylum Agaricomycotina, also known as thehymenomycetes , is one of three taxa of the fungal divisionBasidiomycota (fungi bearing spores onbasidia ). The Agaricomycotina contain some 20,000 species, and about 98% of these are in the classAgaricomycetes : most of the fungi known asmushrooms , including thebracket fungi andpuffballs . Species in the Agaricomycotina that are not Agaricomycetes include thejelly fungi , certain "yeast s", ear fungi, and others; these are gathered together as the classesTremellomycetes andDacrymycetes .References
