record label set up in 1984 by Andy Ross andDavid Balfe . Originally formed as anindependent record label with distribution going through Rough Trade Distribution, Food licenced acts to thePolygram offshoot London and Warner's WEA Records, before becoming closely associated with theEMI group'sParlophone label. In1988 EMI invested in the label, whilst in1994 EMI gained complete control and folded it into Parlophone a few years later.Artists
