BlogHer refers to a group blog and online community, and to an annual blogging conference for women. Three of the 2005 conference organizers,
Elisa Camahort ,Jory des Jardins , andLisa Stone , began a company, Blogher LLC, which in 2006 also began a blog ad network. In 2007, BlogHers Act, a political blogging network by and for women, was started by the company.BlogHer conference 2005
BlogHer began as a conference in 2005 in San José, California. It began with an idea and a blog, and once announced, quickly grew to a 300-person conference on women and blogging. The BlogHer team in 2005 included

On July 16, 2008 Blogher announced a partnership with Women@NBCU and iVillage. This landmark agreement provides iVillage access to BlogHer's extensive network of 2200 women's blogs, and promotional opportunities across BlogHer's large and influential audience. As part of the arrangement, iVillage, Oxygen.com and BravoTV.com will feature select BlogHer content. iVillage is an online network that is the leading women's content network with over 16 million unique visitors monthly. The network will be the largest agglomeration of women's media brands online.

Group blog and online community
In 2006, BlogHer started a group blog featuring over 60 women blogging on a variety of subjects. Its forums expanded to include a large worldwide community of bloggers who are women.
