Herbert Turland (
August 29 ,1894 —May 23 ,1973 ) was an Englishcricket er. He was a right-handed batsman and a left-arm medium-pace bowler. Turland was born in Stapleford and died in Illogan North.Turland made his debut first-class appearance for Derbyshire in 1921, for whom he played in one
County Championship game, against Yorkshire. Derbyshire lost this game by an innings margin and Turland did not play furtherfirst-class cricket for three years.In 1924 however, Turland had moved to Nottinghamshire, for whom he played in a match against the South African tourists, which was won by three wickets. Turland made a good account of himself, scoring 29 runs in his first innings and 22 in the second. Turland was a lower-middle order
