BC Highland Games

BC Highland Games

The B.C. Highland Games are the longest running Highland Games in British Columbia, Canada. The games are run by the B.C. Highland Games Committee under the auspices of the United Scottish Cultural Society, out of the Scottish Cultural Centre in Vancouver. Since the early 1990s, the games have been held on the last Saturday of every June at Percy Perry Stadium in Coquitlam, while 2008 marked the 77th annual games. * Solo Piping
* Solo Drumming
* Pipe Bands
* Highland Dancing
* Shortbread Competition
* Heavy Events, which include:
**Stone put
**Weight throw
**Scottish hammer throw
**Weight over the bar
**Sheaf toss
**Caber toss
**Farmers walk
* Piobaireachd competition
