Victor James Seddon [born on
24 August 1945 inWigan ,Lancashire ] , England is an educator, academic manager and now consultant best known for his work with thePolytechnics [1970-1992] in UK higher education, and with colleges of further education.Seddon has been a lecturer in
statistics andmathematical economics in a number of colleges and universities. Between 1980 and 1985, Seddon chaired the development group forBusiness Information Technology at theBusiness & Technology Education Council , creating a curriculum for the new technology in colleges. Until 1992, he was a member of numerous panels and committees of theCouncil for National Academic Awards . At Teesside, he was chairman of the Academic Standards Committee of the new university. He was Dean of Faculty at the Business School at Leeds Polytechnic (nowLeeds Metropolitan University ) and also atTeesside Polytechnic (University from 1992), the Principal ofCroydon College and Executive Director with theLearning and Skills Council .Publications
