Unitarian Universalists of San Mateo, California

Unitarian Universalists of San Mateo is a Unitarian Universalist congregation located in San Mateo, California. It is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations.

History

UUSM was founded in 1956. In the 1960s, it purchased an existing Methodist church building and moved to 300 East Santa Inez Avenue, San Mateo, California. The building is an example of the Carpenter Gothic style.

Leadership

The Lead Minister is the Rev. Vail Weller, and the Assistant Minister is the Rev. Lauren Smith.

Philosophy

Mission statement reads: "We are a religious community of open hearts and open minds working together to transform ourselves and the world. We live our faith by caring, connecting, giving, learning, acting, and worshipping together."
