Assorus, Sicily

The Sicel city the Romans called Assorus (Greek Assoros) is the modern Assoro in the province of Enna, Sicily. Assorus was an inland town, midway between Enna and Agyrium. It long resisted Hellenization, and retained its traditional Sicel character.
