Location
The community lies in the
Westerwald betweenMontabaur andLimburg an der Lahn right at the boundary between Rhineland-Palatinate andHesse . Hundsangen is by population the biggest and also the liveliest community in the "Verbandsgemeinde" of Wallmerod, a kind of collective municipality found only in Rhineland-Palatinate. Given thatleisure facilities are so abundant, that the community is near the district seats of Limburg and Montabaur, and that the transport links to theFrankfurt Rhein-Main Region and theCologne -Bonn Region are well developed, Hundsangen offers its inhabitants a high quality of life. Owing to preferred residential areas, Hundsangen has developed itself very well over the last few years, and young families find ideal surroundings here.A mountain, the Ollmersch, is a well-known sight of Hundsangen. The community centre is named the "Ollmerschhalle" after it.

Hundsangen has a church

The Baroque parish church of St. Goar was built in 1726. The Romanesque churchtower, however, comes from the 12th century.

In Hundsangen there are several heavily frequented
forest s, with, for example, an educational nature trail in the forest "Am Buch" and abarbecue pit in the Boschern forest.Natural monuments
In the Boschern forest are some cliffs from the time when Hundsangen was still on the seabed. They contain valuable

Hundsangen’s first football team played for many years in the football "Rheinlandliga".

Hundsangen always holds its
kermis in August, on the weekend after Assumption.Particularly impressive are the yearly Carnival events in this Westerwald community. Besides the "Kappensitzungen" held every year, the

Right through the community runs "
Bundesstraße " 8, linkingLimburg an der Lahn and Hennef. The nearestAutobahn interchanges are "Diez ", "Limburg an der Lahn" and "Montabaur" on the A 3 (Cologne –Frankfurt), some 9 km away. The nearestInterCityExpress stops are therailway station s at Montabaur and Limburg Süd on theCologne-Frankfurt high-speed rail line . The Rhine-Main and Cologne urban agglomerations are thereby easily reached.Education
Hundsangen has at its disposal a Catholic
kindergarten and aprimary school . Secondary schools (Gymnasien in Hadamar, Limburg and Montabaur,Realschule n in Hadamar and Montabaur as well asHauptschule n in Salz, Montabaur and Hadamar) are linked to the community by local public transport.Media
