Eddie Bert (born
May 16 ,1922 ) is abebop jazz trombonist born inYonkers, New York , USA. His first job as a musician came in 1940 when he joined theSam Donahue Orchestra, and then joined up withRed Norvo in 1941. Bert has had a surprisingly active career in jazz, performing also with the bands ofStan Kenton and withBenny Goodman 's bebop orchestra. He also recorded extensively as a leader on various labels, includingSavoy Records ,Trans-World ,Jazztone , andDiscovery Records . Now in his 80's Bert continues to play sold-out shows, and shows no sign of slowing down. [cite book
