Connie Berube Binsfeld (born April 18, 1924, Munising, Michigan) is a retired Republican politician from the U.S. State of Michigan.
Biography
In 1974, Binsfeld was elected to the first of four terms in the Michigan House of Representatives. She would later serve two terms in the Michigan Senate. As a member of the Legislature, she was known for sponsoring legislation addressing domestic violence.
In 1990, she was selected to be the running mate of Republican gubernatorial candidate John Engler. She took office as the state's 58th lieutenant governor in 1991 and served through 1999. In 1998, she was named to the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame.
Title
As a former lieutenant governor and member of both houses of the Legislature, Binsfeld is afforded the courtesy title of the Honorable (abbreviated to Hon. or Hon'ble) for life.
