The Academy is a privateCatholic school located on a twenty-eight acre campus in Dedham,Massachusetts . It provides education in all areas and offers over 20 clubs and 10 varsity sports, all award winning. The first Ursuline Academy in the Boston area opened in
Charleston in 1819, but in 1834 the school was burned to the ground by a mob. In 1946, the Ursuline Sisters returned at the request of then-ArchbishopRichard Cushing and began anew with a small school on Arlington Street.
