After several years on an independent label, Lee broke through on the country music scene in 1990 with her cover of Alannah Myles' Number One pop single "Black Velvet". [http://www.oldies.com/artist-biography/Robin-Lee.html Robin Lee Biography: OLDIES.com] ] Overall, Lee has recorded four studio albums, in addition to charting fourteen singles on the U.S. "Billboard" country charts.

Biography

Lee's musical interests began in high school, when she would perform at school dances and talent competitions. She later recorded demo tapes for local publishing companies, and by 1982, she made her debut on the U.S. "Billboard" Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts with "Turning Back the Covers". She charted several more singles throughout the 1980s, with her cover of Alannah Myles' "Black Velvet" peaking at #12 in 1990. Lee has since signed as a songwriter to Big Tractor Music, and has written album cuts for LeAnn Rimes and Jo Dee Messina, as well as singles for Lila McCann ("With You"), The Clark Family Experience ("Standin' Still") and Katrina Elam ("No End in Sight"). Lee also married Trey Bruce, another country songwriter, in the late 1990s, and has co-written several songs with him.
