Most of Blacktail Butte is densely forested with a mixed fir forest oflodgepole pine ,Douglas fir andEngelmann Spruce ; however there are several largesedimentary rock outcrop pings and scattered pockets ofAspen trees [.Lumina Tech, C.M. This butte is a principal landmark with Jackson Hole, visible from much of the Jackson Hole valley floor as well as many portions of theTeton Range .References
