Pier is a free and open source content management system written in Smalltalk using the Seaside web application framework.

Pier [ [http://www.iam.unibe.ch/~scg/Archive/Papers/Duca05hSmallwikiWikiSymp05.pdf Pier — A Meta-Described Collaborative Content Management System] ] is written with objects from top to bottom. Pier is based on Magritte, a meta-description framework. It has shown to be very powerful in the combination with the Seaside web application framework, to enable composition and configuration of interactive web sites through a convenient web interface without having to write code. Ports

The main development of Pier happens in Squeak. There are ports to other Smalltalk dialects such as VisualWorks and Gemstone/S.
