M.B.A. fromHarvard Business School in1964 , he worked in Sweden and wasCEO of the newspapersDagens Nyheter andExpressen between1973 and1980 . After that he worked with his companyInvestment AB Latour , through which he now controls security firmSecuritas AB (with 12.1% of the capital) and the world-leading lock producerAssa Abloy . His business has made him one of Sweden's richest people. He forms a partnership with fellow businessmanMelker Schörling , who also controls a significant amount of Securitas shares and serves as the company's chairman. In2001 Gustaf Douglas was elected to the board of the Moderate Party. He has a long history of political involvement, having campaigned for what the predecessor of the Moderates in his teens. Douglas was, however, for a time active within the Liberal People's Party. Now he is known as a rather Conservative Moderate with a big interest ineducation policy .He is married to Elisabeth, "née" von Essen, of another noble family.
