multinational corporation of Swedish origin. In the 1980s Tetra Laval relocated its headquarters to Lausanne, Switzerland.The Tetra Laval Group consists of the three independent industry groups:
Tetra Pak ,DeLaval &Sidel . Altogether, the Group employs close to 30,200 people. The companies' activities are focused on systems for processing, packaging & distribution of food & accessories for dairy production & animal husbandry. The three industry groups are leaders within their respective areas of business.*
Tetra Pak : Designs & sells equipment used to process, package & distribute liquid food products.Ruben Rausing is the founder of Tetra Pak.
*DeLaval : Makes & sells equipment for dairy farmers, as well as milk production & animal husbandry products.
*Sidel : Designs, manufactures, assembles, supplies & sells complete packaging lines for liquid foods packaged in three main package categories: glass bottles (disposable & returnable), plastic (PET, HDPE and PP) & drink cans.Although they operate independently they cooperate to develop the synergies between the groups.
Tetra Laval International provides the financing, risk management & investment support needed by the Tetra Laval Group. This organisation also has responsibility for managing its overall legal structure, financial/equity structures & tax planning.
