- KKS Power Plant Classification System
The KKS Power Plant Classification System is a standardised system for the classification of
power station s. It serves during engineering, construction, operation and maintenance of power stations for identification and classification of the equipment. The system is known in short as KKS which is the abbreviation of the German term "Kraftwerk-Kennzeichensystem".tructure and Format
The KKS has three different types of codes:
* Process-related code, for identification of systems and equipment according to their functions in the power station process.
* Point of installation code, for identification of points of installation of electrical ,control and instrumentation devices
* Location code, for identification of locations of equipment and structures.ystem Code
With the KKS system the main systems of a power station are identified by using a system code:
* A GRID AND DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS
* B POWER TRANSMISSION AND AUXILIARY POWER SUPPLY
* C INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL EQUIPMENT
* E CONVENTIONAL FUEL SUPPLY AND RESIDUES DISPOSAL
* F HANDLING OF NUCLEAR EQUIPMENT
* G WATER SUPPLY AND DISPOSAL
* H CONVENTIONAL HEAT GENERATION
* J NUCLEAR HEAT GENERATION
* K REACTOR AUXILIARY SYSTEMS
* L STEAM, WATER, GAS CYCLES
* M MAIN MACHINE SETS
* N PROCESS ENERGY SUPPLY FOR EXTERNAL USERS
* P COOLING WATER SYSTEMS
* Q AUXILIARY SYSTEMS
* R GAS GENERATION AND TREATMENT
* S ANCILLARY SYSTEMS
