Hampa Nagarajaiah ( _kn. ಹಂಪಾ ನಾಗರಾಜಯ್ಯ) (Born: October 7, 1936) is an eminent Kannada scholar on Jainism. Popularly known as Hampana, he was born at Hampasandra Village located in Kolar District in the Indian state of Karnataka.

Academics

Hampana completed his early education at his native village and neighbouring towns. Later he moved to Mysore from where he completed his post-graduation in Kannada literature in the year 1959. He was soon appointed as lecturer in Kannada and continued to serve the university of Mysore in various capacities appointment as lecturer in kannada. He served in vaious capacities like Professor, Dean of arts faculty before retiring in the year 1996. Hamapna has also delivared guest lectures at renowned western universities. [cite web
