Llangynwyd is a village located on the main A4063 road between Maesteg and Bridgend in Wales. It is in Bridgend (county borough) has a Post office, mini-mart convenience store, Chinese takeaway and parish church.

Education

The village has a primary school "Llangynwyd Primary School" and is home to the Upper part of Maesteg Comprehensive School. Soon to be overtaken as Bridgend's first Welsh language medium school. The described settlement is Pontrhydycyf. The placename Llangynwyd refers to the hilltop village that has a church dedicated to Saint Cynwyd, a sixth century chief. The son of Cynfelyn.
