"La Cucaracha" is a 1959 Mexican film directed by Ismael Rodríguez. At the Cannes Film Festival, it was nominated for a golden palm award.

Plot Summary

When the Mexican Revolution it was exploding, there was a woman who did history her name was "La Cucaracha" (María Félix). His great passion was the Revolution, but his perdition was a man: The General Antonio Zeta (Emilio Fernández), that despise her for another woman, Isabel, the Widow (Dolores del Rio). The rivalry between both women exploded to the compass of the violent war.

Curiosities

In this movie, Rodríguez assembled to both maximum female stars of the Mexican Cinema:María Félix "La Doña" and Dolores del Rio "La Señora". Emilio Fernández and Pedro Armendáriz completed the picture.
