Allison Kaden is a general assignment reporter for the CW11
WPIX-TV . Kaden joined WPIX in 2004.Previously Kaden anchored and reported for News 12 The Bronx for four years.
Education and Training
Kaden has a
bachelor's degree in American Studies fromTulane University and in 2000 she earned amaster's degree in journalism from Northwestern University'sMedill School of Journalism .Kaden also studied
photography atAmerican University of Paris and is a trainedopera singer , having been singing since the age of ten and having formally trained at the age of fourteen.Nominations and Awards
Kaden was nominated for a 2005 Emmy Award by the
National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences -New York in the category Educational Programming: Segment(s) for a piece she did for News 12 The Bronx entitled "In Depth-Waterfront" which aired onJuly 5 ,2004 .Kaden received a Special Mention in 2005 from the New York State Associated Press Broadcasters Association in the category Best Spot News Coverage for a piece on WPIX entitled "Chopper Down."
In 2007, Kaden won A New York Emmy in the category Spot News Story for her part in a report entitled "East Side Explosion" which aired on WPIX on
July 10 ,2006 .Personal life
Kaden is a member of the Steering Committee of The NewLeaders of
NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital .Kaden and her husband Jason Horowitz welcomed their first child, daughter Ella Kaden Horowitz, on
