Easington Lane is located in North East England between Houghton-le-Spring and Easington Village, in the parish of Hetton. It is the southernmost point of the City of Sunderland and Tyne and Wear.

The Village consists of a main street (the A182 road) with housing estates ether side. Its a relatively poor area with high unemployment levels. Easington Lane is twinned with the urban area Soweto, in South Africa. The village has changed little in the last 30 years.

New housing estate in development & new school, Easington Lane is within easy reach by car or bus to the retail parks Dalton Park and seaside. Close to all the major shopping areas: Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham.
