Paul Cavonis

Paul Cavonis (born December 4, 1937) is an actor who has appeared in over 30 movies and television series. Paul is known for playing mafia and Greek characters.

Biography

Early life

Cavonis was born in the Hells Kitchen section of New York City. He is of Greek ancestry. Paul was drafted and served in the U.S. Army in the period between the Korean War and the full scale escalation of the Vietnam War. Paul has said jokingly about his service in the Army that, “Not one Viet Cong soldier invaded Hawaii on my watch.”

Career 1970s

Paul’s first TV appearance was as Mickey in the 1972 made for TV movie The Living End starring Lou Gossett Jr. He next appeared as Rick Niels in the award nominated made for TV movie "Short Walk to Daylight" alongside James Brolin. Throughout the 70’s Paul would make appearances in the "Brady Bunch", "Six Million Dollar Man", "S.W.A.T.", "Kojak", "The F.B.I.", "Banacek", "The Bionic Woman", "Baretta", "The Rockford Files", "Police Story", and "Rhoda". Paul would have a reoccurring role on "The Streets of San Francisco" and as well as multiple roles in "Charlie's Angels" and "M*A*S*H".

Career 1980s

Paul made appearances on "The Greatest American Hero", "Fantasy Island", "The Fall Guy", "Matt Houston", "TJ Hooker", and "Dynasty".

Trivia

Paul has been romantically linked to several Hollywood starlets including Loretta Swit, Pat Quinn from the film "Alice's Restaurant", and Tyne Daly.

Paul is retired and is now the mayor of a retirement community in the Wine Country near North San Diego County in Southern California.
