The IBM System Cluster 1350 is a
Linux cluster solution forHigh-performance computing composed primarily ofIBM System x ,IBM BladeCenter and someIBM System p andIBM System Storage components integrated with network switches from vendors such asCisco andForce10 and optional high-performanceInfiniBand orMyrinet interconnects. The project was previously known as the "IBM eServer 1350" or "e1350".In November 2001,
IBM introduced the eServer cluster 1300 (or e1300) based on then-currentPentium III products. In October 2002 this was replaced with the introduction of Pentium 4 basedIntel Xeon products with the e1350.Operating system choices are officially limited to Enterprise Linux distributions from
Red Hat andSUSE , andCluster Systems Management (CSM) software from IBM. Additional software (examples:GPFS andLoadLeveler ) can also be ordered, althoughopen source alternatives may be available.External links
