Its 2001 population was 1,258. The settlement was founded in 1960 by the Aluminio tis Ellados. Paralia Distomou is located 3 km east from Antikyra, 190 km west of Athens, 30 km west of Livadeia, 20 km south of Desfina and east of Delphi and Itea and southeast of Amfissa. Phocis is to the west.
Paralia Distomou is known for its aluminum production and aluminum mining. It contributes its main industry and it is exported throughout the country as well as Southern Europe, other industries include agriculture and services. Tourism is the next industry in which it has a nearby beach.
