Robert Perry "Bob" Golic (born October 26, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio) is a former NFL defensive tackle who played for the New England Patriots (1979-1981), Cleveland Browns (1982-1988) and Los Angeles Raiders (1989-1992) in the NFL.

Bob played high school football at St. Joseph's High School in Cleveland. He was drafted by the Patriots out of Notre Dame in the second round (52nd pick overall) of the 1979 NFL Draft. Bob was a 3-time Pro Bowler: 1985, 1986, 1987.

At Notre Dame, Golic was voted first team All-American for the 1977 and 1978 football seasons. For the 1978 season, Golic was selected by a unanimous vote at linebacker. Golic was also a 2 time All-American for Notre Dame as a heavyweight wrestler, capturing 4th place in 1977 and 3rd place in 1978 [ [http://www.wrestlinghalloffame.org/champions/?names&wrestler=3052 The Official web site for National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum ] ] , placing ahead of future Olympic gold Medalist Jeff Blatnick. Golic was also a member of the 1977 NCAA National Champion football team.

Golic attended St. Joseph's High (Cleveland, Ohio) and was a letterman in football and wrestling. He won the Ohio High School heavyweight championship in 1975. He also participated in ballet at the Akron Civic Theatre in Akron, Ohio.

Post NFL

After retiring from football Golic pursued an acting career, most notably as Cal U Resident Advisor Mike Rogers on ' and the NBC made-for-tv-movie ' in 1993. Golic also hosted sports talk radio programs and did sports reporting for TV stations in Los Angeles. He also had a stint on Britain's late 80s-90s NFL coverage on Channel 4, opposite presenter Gary Imlach. He was also a commentator for TNN's coverage of the short-lived XFL in 2001.

Golic returned to his native Northeast Ohio in January 2005 to host the afternoon drive time radio talk show on WNIR 100.1 FM in Akron. He lives with his family in Solon.

Bob was nicknamed "Unfunny Bob" on the popular television program "Cheap Seats" on ESPN Classic.

Bob is the older brother of Mike Golic, who is also a former NFL football player, and is also a radio host (ESPN Radio's Mike and Mike in the Morning).

Mike Golic is a spokesperson for NutraSystems for losing over 50 lbs; however big brother Bob has outdone his little brother again, dropping over 140 lbs and returning to his high school weight of 245 lbs.
