William Holt Yates Titcomb (
February 22 ,1858 –September 7 1930 ) was an Englishartist .Titcomb was the eighth child and first son of the Rev.
Jonathan Holt Titcomb and his wife Sarah, he was born inCambridge .He was educated at
Westminster School "The Times", Friday, Sep 12, 1930; pg. 14; Issue 45616; col E: Obituaries: Mr. W H Y Titcomb. ] . He began his art training at the South Kensington School [South Kensington School: presumably, what is now theRoyal College of Art .] .His father was appointed first Bishop of
Rangoon Burma in 1877. Titcomb joined him there in December 1880 and made a series of paintings and sketches of life in the monasteries there.He was taught in Paris byGustave Boulanger and at theRoyal College of Art in Antwerp by Charles Verlat. His painting "Primitive Methodists at Prayer", was displayed at the
