Michigan ,United States , named after ColonelJean François Hamtramck .Hamtramck High School was located on Wyandotte and Hewitt Streets until 1970 when it was moved to the former Copernicus Junior Middle School.
A four-day strike at Copernicus in April 1965 led to the signing of the first teachers' union contract in Michigan's history.
