HMAS "Wollongong" (ACPB 92) is an Australian Armidale class patrol boat. "Wollongong" was commissioned in Wollongong, New South Wales on 23 June 2007. "Wollongong" is based in Cairns and performs border protection and fisheries protection patrols.
HMAS "Wollongong" is the third ship of this name to serve in the Royal Australian Navy, and is named after the New South Wales city. The first HMAS "Wollongong" (J 172) was a Bathurst class corvette which served with the Royal Australian Navy between 1941 and 1946. The second HMAS "Wollongong" (FCPB 206) was a Fremantle class patrol boat which formed part of the RAN between 1981 and 2006.
