Andrej Ďurkovský (born
5 September 1958 inBratislava ,Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak politician and member of theChristian Democratic Movement .Ďurkovský studied at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Slovak University of Technology. He entered politics after the
Velvet Revolution and became a member of the Christian Democratic Movement in 1990. In 1994, he became mayor of the Old Town inBratislava and remained there until 2002, when he was elected as a mayor of whole Bratislava. He is now serving his second term until 2010, having won municipal election in 2006.
