The Gorgon was an aerial
ram or air-to-airmissile powered by aturbojet engine and equipped withradio controls and ahoming device. The Gorgon, developed by the U.S. duringWorld War II , was later expanded into a broad program embracingturbojet ,ramjet ,pulsejet , androcket power; straight wing, swept wing, andcanard (tail first) air frames; and visual,television , heat-homing, and three types ofradar guidance for use asair-to-air ,air-to-surface andsurface-to-surface guided missiles and as targetdrones .References
