Fakhro

Fakhro or Al Fakhro (فخرو in Arabic} is the family name of an Arab business family located in Bahrain, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. The Al Darwish الدرويش , Al Obaidan العبيدان, Al Othman العثمان, Al Mohamad Hasan المحمد حسن and Al Khal الخال in Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia are branches of the family.

Origins

Originally from the Al Wahba of the tribe of Banu Tamim, the family later became a part of the Howilla, the Arab tribes which immigrated to Persia, and returned later on to the Arabian Peninsula. The family derives their name from their great grandfather Fakhir bin Abdulla, whose lineage is traced back to Adnan.

* Ali bin Yousif Fakhro (1924-2008), Bahraini businessman and former chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
* Abdulla Al-Darwish, Qatari businessman.

* Ahmed bin Kassim Al-Darwish, eldest son of Kassim Darwish Fakhroo, Qatari businessman.

* Abdulrahman Al-Darwish, Qatari businessman and former Head of the Qatari Amiri Diwan.

* Yousif bin Yousif Fakhro, Bahraini businessman.

* Mohamed bin Abdulrahman M. Hassan Fakhro, right hand man to Shk. Abdulla Bin Jassim, Ruler of Qatar. Also known as "Half of the World" (نصف الدنيا) due to his immense knowledge.

* Layla Abdulla Fakhro, freedom fighter.

* Yasser Nasser Alobaidan, Head figure in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

* Abdulla bin Ahmad Al-Obaidan, fighter in the Zubara battles.
