Jim Coane

Jim Coane is an award winning television producer, writer, director and development executive. He is the creator and Executive Producer of the multi-award winning PBS preschool series "Dragon Tales". He is credited as executive producer and director on many network, syndication and cable series, including "Walking the Bible", "Totally Hidden Video", "Card Sharks", "Futurequest", "America's Most Wanted", "Forces Beyond", and "Superstars of Action".

Coane has executive produced over 500 hundred episodes of series, specials and pilots for ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, USA Network, Turner Entertainment, Discovery Channel, TLC, PBS, FX and other broadcasters. He received an Emmy award for the PBS documentary series "Futurequest" and his animated children's series "Dragon Tales" has been nominated three times for an Emmy. He worked on staff in overall producer deals at Sony Pictures Television and Fox Television Studios and was president of the production division of Unapix Productions.

Biography

Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Coane is a graduate of The Hun School of Princeton and Rutgers University. He was married to Amy Fromer in 1984 and has two children, Max and Cassie. He began his career as a producer at MPO Productions in New York City before he founded his production company, Coane Productions, Inc. He is a member of the Directors Guild of America and the Producers Guild of America. He currently resides in Santa Monica, CA.
