Transit Services is the result of merging the former Trans-Serve Frederick County shuttles and the Frederick City Transit lines. Frederick City Transit operated three routes (red, white and blue lines) in and around Frederick City, which utilized several TMC and one Orion model transit coach (old faithful/number 204). Soon after the formation of Transit Services of Frederick County, Transit purchased four new Orion models (numbered 322-325). These buses wore a new green over white color scheme. In 2002, Transit purchased five SLF400 Thomas built, low-floor buses (numbered 917-921). In 2003, Transit purchased seven new standard Orion models (numbers 922-928) with an additional seven delivered in 2004 (numbered 060-066). In 2005, the old Frederick City Transit - number 204 was sold, ending the era of the Frederick City Transit blue over white colors. Since the days of the old red, white and blue lines of Frederick City Transit, Transit has grown to operate eight, main city connector routes (routes, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80 / operated with full size equipment). Transit has continued plans for route expansion and equipment acquisition.
