St. Theresa School

St. Theresa School is a private Catholic school located at 2701 Indian Mound Trail, Coral Gables, Florida, in the Archdiocese of Miami. It is one of the oldest schools in Miami-Dade County.

In 1922, George Merrick the founder of the City of Coral Gables sold six acres to the Sisters of St. Joseph. On September 15, 1925 the Academy of St. Joseph was opened with 70 high school students. In 1932, it was renamed St. Theresa School as the parish school of the Church of the Little Flower. In 1958, the school dropped the high school.

From its founding in 1922 until 1987 it was run by the Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Augustine. It is now run by the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles. There are 950 students from Pre-K through 8th grade. It is accredited by the Florida Catholic Conference and recognized by the National Council for Private School Accreditation.
